Sons of the Carnival tells the story of Anésio Gebara, owner of a samba school, leader of a wide network of “Jogo do Bicho” and of his four sons: Anesinho (his favorite, white, 43 years old), Claudinho (executive, white, 33 years old), Brown (percussion teacher in the samba school, mulatto, 33 years old), and Nilo (bodyguard to the boss, dark-skinned, 33 years old).
The program begins with Capo’s birthday. Upon reaching the age of 75, Anésio Gebara receives the worst blow of his life; a misfortune that will truly affect the fate of everyone.
As of that tragic event, Sons of the Carnival unveils the different paths the sons take to occupy a significant place in their father’s life, until each one finds his own place in the world... a story that ends during the last seconds of the spectacular Rio de Janeiro carnival parade.
